On the first of May, faculty, staff and students gathered to attend a farewell luncheon for Donald House. After years of dedication to the Visualization Program, he will be sorely missed. The Viz-Family wishes Don all the best with his new position at Clemson.

Goobies, will be a part of the SIGGRAPH 2008 Computer Animation Festival. Chosen from hundreds of submissions from all over the world, Goobies will be presented in the new Nokia Theater to an international audience of CG professionals.

Seth Freeman, Michael Losure, Patrick O'Brien, and P. Antonio Piedra worked together to produce Goobies, an animated short that was recently reviewed by Motionographer, and Cartoon Brew

Lauren Simpson worked with fellow students to produce a music video for the band, Motion City Soundtrack. Lauren's video can be viewed at www.mtvu.com.

Jon Reisch and his team at PIXAR received the award for "Best Effects in an Animated Motion Picture" at the Visual Effects Society's sixth annual gala event at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
