atta, a presence-sensitive installation / cinematic landscape of rural Texas.
There are two screens: one is silk projection material, one is made of sandstone.
Viewers dial through different time-lapse sequences made from various remote sensing devices.
These are viewed on the upright screen. The image on this screen is transformed into a "fungus farm"
on the rock screen in homage to the ant species Atta Texana, which harvests tree leaves to feed its young
in underground cavities so vast they can swallow entire tractors, and so deep they can contain a 3-story
house.
