LIGHT and VOLUME SHADERS - Now that you have some experience with surface and displacement shaders, this week you are asked to develop and apply an original "light" shader and an original "volume" shader. Basic material on light shaders is in Chapter 9 of Advanced Renderman. More advanced light shader material is in Chapter 14. Basic material on volume shaders is in Chapter 12. More advanced volume shader material is in Chapter 15.
You will need to create an interesting scene to show off your shaders. Submit at least two images created using your shaders. One with your light shader and one with both your light and volume shader.
You need to turn in:
1) A README file.
2) The source code for your shaders.
3) The compiled shaders.
4) The RIB or Maya files for your Renderman scene.
5) Rendered images. Jpeg format please!
We want to see appropriate commenting and
intelligent naming of variables so that the shaders can be deciphered.
