Mary has taught drawing, design, and painting more than a decade. She is an artist in Adobe Photoshop as well as oil on canvas. She has been a book designer in New York City and San Francisco, an artist for an alternative newspaper in Pittsburgh, an art director and designer of cover art for CDs, and a painter in Houston. She joined the Texas A&M faculty in 1984.
