Art from the Visualization Sciences Program spans a wide variety of mediums and formats. Based on the theories of art and science taught in the Viz Program, students blend the two to create a variety of works.

Under the direction (and cheerleading) of Jill Mulholland, students in the 2008 Summer Industry Course (VIZA 627) worked with visiting professionals from DreamWorks Studios to produce three animated shorts. The class was divided into teams. Each team had to develop a storyline around the simple concept of a robot on an assembly line. Teams were then assigned to produce a thirty-second short containing fluid, smoke, and illuminated (sparkle) effects. Working on a tight production schedule for the entire summer, the teams successfully produced the following animated shorts.
