jrOcclusion is an Ambient Occlusion plug-in for Maya 5.0 which I have developed using the Maya API. It provides a robust Ambient Occlusion shading node which is supported directly in the Maya Renderer -- No Renderman required!

With this initial release the following features have been implemented:
- Quasi Monte Carlo sample generation
- Jittered sampling
- Control over Cone Angle/Focus of the sample rays
- Control over the minimum and max distances to be considered for occlusion
- An image density multiplier
- Up to 256 samples per pixel
- Fully compatible with Batch Rendering
- Fully compatible with Motion Blur
IN DEVELOPMENT

Currently I am looking into the following additional features for a future release:
- Locking jitter values per frame to eliminate chatter
- Unlimited number of samples per pixel
