Installation and Initialization in Maya

Installation of jrOcclusion is quick and easy. Follow the steps for your specific platform and load the plug-in as indicated below:
Loading and Initializing the plug-in in Maya 5.0
Obtain the latest jrOcclusion.Win32.zip file by following the directions under the download page.
Unzip jrOcclusion.Win32.zip to a temporary location. It should contain the following files:
jrOcclusion.mll -
the plug-in file
AEjrOccNodeTemplate.mel - the plug-in
interface
render_jrOccNode.xpm - the plug-in icon
README.txt - late breaking news and
EULA
Copy jrOcclusion.mll to:
"C:\Documents and
Settings\USER_NAME\My Documents\maya\5.0\plug-ins"
Where "USER_NAME" is your windows user name. If the "plug-ins"
directory under "\maya\5.0" does not exist, create it and
copy the file there.
Copy AEjrOccNodeTemplate.mel to:
"C:\Documents and
Settings\USER_NAME\My Documents\maya\5.0\scripts"
Where "USER_NAME" is your windows user name. If the "scripts"
directory under "\maya\5.0" does not exist, create it and
copy the file there.
Copy render_jrOccNode.xpm to:
"C:\Documents and
Settings\USER_NAME\My Documents\maya\5.0\prefs\icons"
Where "USER_NAME" is your windows user name. If the "icons"
directory under "\maya\5.0\prefs" does not exist, create it
and copy the file there.
Obtain the latest jrOcclusion.Linux.zip file by following the directions under the download page.
Unzip jrOcclusion.Linux.zip to a temporary location (ie type "unzip jrOcclusion.Linux.zip" at any shell). It should contain the following files:

Copy jrOcclusion.so to:
"~\USER_NAME\maya\5.0\plug-ins"
Where "~\USER_NAME" is the path to your Linux home directory.
If the "plug-ins" directory under "\maya\5.0" does
not exist, create it and copy the file there.
Copy AEjrOccNodeTemplate.mel to:
"~\USER_NAME\maya\5.0\scripts"
Where "~\USER_NAME" is the path to your Linux home directory.
If the "scripts" directory under "\maya\5.0" does
not exist, create it and copy the file there.
Copy render_jrOccNode.xpm to:
"~\USER_NAME\maya\5.0\prefs\icons"

the "icons" directory under "\maya\5.0\prefs" does
not exist, create it and copy the file there.
Loading and Initializing the plug-in in Maya 5.0
Open the Maya Plug-in manager (Window -> Settings/Preferences -> Plug-in Manager).

Click on the "Loaded" and "Auto-Load" check boxes by jrOcclusion.mll (windows) or jrOcclusion.so (Linux)

In HyperShade, select Create -> Materials -> Jr Occ Node

You see an all white shader swatch which represents your new jrOcclusion node. Select the geometry and assign the shader. Right click on the swatch and select "Assign Material to Selection" to do this.

Congratulations! You have sucessfully installed jrOcclusion for Maya 5.0. Check out the Settings page for information on how to use jrOcclusion.
